A time consuming exercise in patience, but oh my, isn't it pretty?
If I were to make it again (and there have been a lot of requests for birthday versions), I would:
- try less a little less gelatine in the mixes as it seemed to mask the taste;
- be more patient between pouring layers (see the white cloud on top?);
- try and make the layers a bit more even.

Hey Celeste - they still make them. In fact, mine is a silicone one I bought at a discount store. I wondered if the silicone aided taking it out if the mold, but I must admit I was in constant fear that pouring the liquid in would make it bend out of shape and spill over, so I ended up putting it inside a slightly bigger cake tin.
Didn't last long, Liz - you're right!
